Innovation

“We are committed to being present within innovation projects that promote the use of natural gas and contribute to improving the natural environment”

Projects in which we participate:

CORE LNGas hive

This initiative is co-financed by the European Commission through the Connect Europe mechanism (CEF) from the 2014 Transport Call. The overall objective of this project is to develop an integrated, safe and efficient logistics chain for the supply of LNG as an alternative fuel in the transport, and particularly the maritime sector within the Peninsula.

The intention is to promote the use of this alternative fuel, not only on ships, but also in port areas. At Saggas we participate in the project in the technical and financial feasibility studies for the compatibility and adaptation of its facilities to supply LNG as a maritime fuel.

LNGHive2

Second part of the project called “LNGHive2: Infrastructure and Logistics Solutions”, co-financed by Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) within the European Commission. In this initiative, Saggas has participated with a project to adapt its dock to manage LNG loads for small ships or small scale (ships with a capacity of less than 6,500 m3).

ALGAE4SYMBIOSIS

Joint Project with the start-up Mediterranean Algae included in the Cooperation Innovation and Development Program (PIDCOP) of IVACE+I, which aims to find out if it is possible to eliminate residual chlorine from the return current of seawater, through the use or macroalgae, avoiding the consumption of bisulfite used for chlorine reduction, while reusing the water and energy used in the regasification process to obtain a new product in a natural and sustainable way through industrial symbiosis.
